HASD School Board Approves Purchase Of 12 Tasers

The Hazleton Area School Board has approved the purchase of 12 tasers at last night's School Board Meeting.

The cost of the tasers is $14,112.24 through Taser International, being the lowest of three quotes solicited, calculating to $1,176.02 for each taser.

It is currently unknown which specific model will be purchased.

During the meeting, the approval of the Hazleton Area School District Taser Policy and the approval of the Hazleton Area School District Use of Force Policy were both removed from the agenda. Despite the proposed policies not being approved, the taser purchase was approved.
