Police Raid Home Near Cedar and Birch

At approximately 2:45 pm, Hazleton Police arrived at a residence near South Cedar and Birch Streets to conduct a raid.

Officers wore bulletproof vests, carried shields, and had weapons drawn while surrounding and entering the home.

Two individuals are reported to have been detained at the scene. The main target of the raid was reported to have left the residence prior to police arrival.

Many neighbors in the area had commented on the residents of the home, stating that the residence was a known drug house.

As police left the area, a woman exited a nearby home and thanked the Hazleton Police officers for raiding the home, adding that it was a long time coming.

It is not currently clear if police have located the initial target of the raid, or if any amount of drugs have been removed from the home.
