Mother Charged After Fatal Overdose

On May 24th 2016 at approximately 4:47pm, Butler township Police responded to 82 Klingers Road in Drums for a report of an overdose.

Butler Township Police arrived at the home and located a deceased male determined to be Kodi Klinetop, along with empty heroin packets, a crack pipe, an uncapped syringe, and pills.

The residence was found to be uninhabitable and was condemned by the Butler Township Code Enforcement.

It was determined that Brittany Noel Horwath, 23, resided in the residence with her two juvenile children along with Klinetop who was not the father of the children.

On June 8th 2016, Horwath was arrested and charged with two felony counts of Endangering The Welfare Of Children. Horwath was arraigned before District Magistrate Daniel O'Donnell. Her bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.

Horwath was ordered not to have any contact with the victims or any other minors. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 20th 2016 at 10:30am in front of Magistrate O'Donnell.
