Former Student Causes Lockdown And Police Response By Threatening Staff And Attempting To Fight A St


At approximately 2:45 pm on May 24th 2016, Hazleton City Police responded to the Heights Terrace Elementary/Middle School for a report of a male threatening security and the principal.

The male was described as a former student of the school. He was reported to have a pit bull with him.

Sources state that the male was attempting to fight a student in the school, and the male had threatened to have the dog attack the student.

The school was placed on lock down, while police responded.

Police entered the area from both entrances, however they were unable to locate the male who had reportedly left the area on foot with the dog.

No one was injured during the event.

It is unknown if charges will be filed.
