Two Arrested In Relation To Heroin Distribution


Hazleton Police have released that two males have been arrested on various drug charges.

Kevin Polanco Perez, 18, of South Laurel Street, and a juvenile male were taken into custody following an investigation by the Hazleton Police Narcotics Unit and members of the patrol division.

Police responded to an initial report of a suspicious vehicle involved in drug activity in the area of 3rd and Peace.

Four individuals were in the vehicle initially, two of which being Polanco Perez and the juvenile.

A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle at Maple and Locust streets. During the investigation, police state that Polanco Perez was found to be in possession of approximately 150 packets of heroin, a sandwich bag containing marijuana, one xanax pill, two cellular phones, and $265.00 in cash.

While speaking witht he juvenile, the male pulled away from officers and attempted to flee. Police state that the juvenile was quickly subdued.

During a search of the juvenile, police state that he was found to be in possession of approximately 50 packets of heroin which was concealed in his underwear.

Polanco Perez was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia among other charges.

The juvenile was charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The juvenile was also found to be wanted by juvenile probation for absconding.
