In an attempt to promote knowledge on local history, Hazleton News 1 has been working in an effort to collect posts and information from the Greater Hazleton Historical Society and Museum:

The Vine Street Cemetery has over 320 trees, many of them left uncut when the property was cleared in 1859. Most of these trees are Maples and Oaks and they have grown to enormous size. The cemetery contains thousands of beautifully executed stone monuments. A monument manufacturer has estimated the current replacement cost of the cemetery's monuments to be over $100 million.

From Hazleton News 1 :

in 2014, a female became impaled by the fence of the cemetery after attempting to climb the fence while being followed.
