Recent Heroin Overdoses Spark Debate In Area Residents - NA Meeting Schedule

In the past week, four individuals were reported to have overdosed on heroin.

On Christmas night, a man and a woman were found unresponsive in a vehicle at the 15th Street car wash.

On the 27th, an individual was reported to be unresponsive in a home on South Pine Street resulting from a heroin overdose.

Again on the 27th, an individual was reported to be unresponsive in a home on North Laurel Street as a result of a heroin overdose.

This sparked debate in many residents, with many opinions pouring in.

Some stated that the recent overdoses were a clear sign that a rehab is needed in the area. Others pointed out that it is hard to stay clean while in the same environment.

Many residents expressed that the dealers are to blame for bringing the drugs into the area.

Others stated that the high amount of users creates a demand for the dealers.

Some expressed ill feelings towards users and dealers alike.

Others defended the users, stating that addiction is a terrible disease.

Everyone has their own opinions, some formed from first hand experience, and others more excluded from the situation. The general consensus is that no one wants the drugs or dealers in our communities, and no one should be addicted to the poison that some would do anything for, every day.
