Second Christmas Gunshot Victim Lied About When And Where He Was Shot

On Christmas night in Hazleton at approximately 8:40 pm, multiple gunshots prompted police and EMS response.

A 17 year old victim was found with a gunshot wound to the back, and police found evidence of a second victim, prompting local hospitals to be contacted in the event of an individual coming in with a gunshot wound.

On Monday the 28th, Hanover Township police released that a male had entered the Wilkes-Barre Township hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg and hand, stating that he had been shot and robbed in the Stony Ridge apartment complex.

He also initially told police and hospital staff that his name was Alexander Lopez.

It was discovered that the males name was actually Junior Santana Garcia, and he was shot in Hazleton on Christmas night.

Police were called to the hospital at approximately 3:30 am on the morning of the 26th, approximately 7 hours after the initial shooting.

Charges have yet to be filed on the false claims and false identity.

Witnesses to the Hazleton shooting claimed that it seemed like two individuals were shooting at eachother, with police reports stating that a second gunshot victim was being searched for, however it was not released if the second victim was also a shooter in the event.

No charges have been filed currently on either the 17 year old or Garcia in connection to the shooting.
