New York Man Jailed For Drugs, Intent To Deliver, After Traffic Stop
Butler Township Police state that just after 10 am, a traffic stop on South Hunter Highway led to a drug arrest.
Police state that a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driven by Jose Abentiez, 48, of Bronx New York for failing to use a required turn signal.
Butler Township Police state that Abentiez appeared nervous and showed indicators of criminal activity.
Abentiez consented to a search of the vehicle which uncovered a large amount of drugs in a Christmas shopping bag located on the front passenger seat of the vehicle.
The bag contained 76.5 grams of crack cocaine, 5.7 grams of powder cocaine, and 6.2 grams of marijuana.
Abentiez admitted to police that he was transporting the drugs from Bronx Ny to Hazleton PA for distribution.
Abentiez was charged with:
Two counts of felony Possession With Intent To Deliver
Three counts of Mesdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance
One count of misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
And one count of Turning Movements and Required Signals.
Abentiez was arraigned by District Judge Halesey and jailed at LCCF for lack of $50,000 cash bail.
