Accident Between Sedan And Mack Truck Deters Traffic

Around 2 pm on Friday, Butler Township Police, Valley Regional Fire, Freeland Fire, and multiple EMS units responded to the area of East Butler Drive and Allen Lane for a report of a two car motor vehicle accident.
Butler Township Police state that a preliminary crash investigation indicated that the Subaru exited Allen Lane into the direct path of a Mack Tri-axle dump truck which was traveling West on Butler Drive. The front of the tri-axle had struck the driver's side of the Subaru, causing heavy damage to the Subaru.

Isaac Pugh, 21 of Freeland was driving the Subaru with passenger Kimberly Whitmer, 43 of Freeland. Initial reports stated heavy entrapment in the Subaru. Pugh was flown via Life Flight to Geisinger Wyoming Valley, and Whitmer was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton and flown from there to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest via MedEvac.
Joseph Wassell, the operator of the dump truck, was taken to Geicinger Wyoming valley via ambulance to be evaluated.
