Sunday December 13th - News Review

On Sunday December 13th, the following incidents are reported to have happened in the Hazleton area at these approximate times:

1 am

Church and 11th Report of a male stealing items from vehicles. Described as a white male with camo shorts and a black shirt. HPD responding.

2 am

Hayes and 11th Report of a kitchen fire. House filled with smoke. Fire is currently out. Homeowner refusing to evacuate due to having six cats in the residence. Hazleton City Fire and EMS responding.

2 am

500 block of Peace Street A male is reportedly walking through the area shooting an unknown type weapon into the air. Also reported to be heard near Diamond and Grant Streets. James and Third reporting the occurrence also. HPD, Butler Township, and West Hazleton Police are responding.

Noon

600 block of North Locust Bullet casings were found from last night's incident of shots fired.

1 pm

North Lee Court Report of a gun stolen from a vehicle. Stolen between Friday night and Sunday around noon. HPD investigating.

2 pm

MedEvac has touched down in the baseball field behind Foster Township Fire for a male who struck a tree while riding a dirtbike.

3 pm

HPD officers are following a male on an ATV, seen driving against traffic on Oak Street. HPD has lost the ATV, but believes they are familiar with the quad.

7 pm

West 7th Street Report of a large fight in progress. Described as 8 people currently assaulting one male. A female also reports being robbed and assaulted in the area. The female was robbed of a handgun. HPD and West Hazleton Police responding.
