Saturday December 12th - News Review


On Saturday December 12th, the following incidents are reported to have happened in the Hazleton area at these approximate times:

5 am

200 block of East 1st Report of approximately 4 shots fired. Shots also heard near Diamond and Wyoming. HPD, Butler Township, and West Hazleton investigating.

7 am

Broad and Webster in West Hazleton Report of a two vehicle accident. No injuries reported. Fluids down. One driver fled the area on foot. West Hazleton Police and West Hazleton Fire on scene.

8 am

Diamond and Church Report of an unresponsive male in a vehicle. EMS and HPD responding. Vehicle was described as a white Subaru. Vehicle was gone upon HPD and EMS arrival. The vehicle was again witnessed on Diamond again, sitting at an intersection through two full green lights. HPD caught up with the vehicle, conducting a traffic stop. Male driver was found to have an expired license which is currently suspended for DUI. Vehicle is being towed and male is in custody. Male being taken to LVH, possibly for blood testing.

4 pm

Vine and 22nd A vehicle drove over a loading area behind The Beer Store. Hazleton Police, Hazleton City Fire, and EMS arrived. No injuries were reported. The driver stated that they thought there was a road.

4 pm

3rd and Seybert Three individuals going door to door inquiring about electrical bills. HPD is aware of the individuals.

6 pm

Broad and Locust Report of a two car motor vehicle accident. No inuries reported. Airbags deployed and fluids down. HPD, HFD, and EMS on scene.

6 pm

Water in areas of Hazle Township is brown and has low pressure due to a reported water main break. Break is on 309 near 940.

9 pm

Newport Drive Two children around 12 years old knocked on an individual's door and asked the homeowner to call 911. It is reported that two males in their 20's were chasing the children. Children are hiding in the bushes. HPD responding.

10 pm

Giant Loss prevention has a male in custody for retail theft. HPD responding.

11 pm

North Vine Street An individual reports that someone broke into their vehicle and stole a gun. HPD investigating.

11 pm

Spruce and Vine Report of three Gunshots in the area. Light colored SUV with headlights off seen heading West on Spruce. HPD responding.
