Overdose Behind Shopping Center Ends In Arrest

At approximately 2:19 pm, Hazleton City Police and EMS responded to the rear of the Hazleton Shopping Center for a report of an unresponsive male.

The male was reported to be on the ground, gasping for air and making noises.

Hazleton Police stated that EMS was able to revive the male, determined to be 26 year old David Burns Jr.

Burns was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

He was taken into custody and later transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.

The reason for the warrant is currently not released. Burns has a criminal history of multiple DUI's.
