Wednesday December 9th - News review


On Wednesday December 9th, the following incidents are reported to have happened in the Hazleton area at these approximate times:

1 am

Broad and Wyoming An individual reports that a people in a dark grey Chevy pickup pulled a gun on him and his friend. Vehicle last seen heading West on Broad. HPD investigating and West Hazleton advised. Started as a road rage incident in the area of Church and 20th.

Noon

Boyer's Two car motor vehicle accident. No injuries. HPD responding.

3 pm

400 block of East Diamond Report of a group of Hispanic males fighting in the street. HPD responding.

4 pm

Drums Elementary School Report of a hit and run. A vehicle was struck in the parking lot. No description of the fleeing vehicle. Butler Township Police responding.

4 pm

East Green Street in West Hazleton A male in his 20's was reportedly becoming violent in a home. Possibly took an excess of medication. West Hazleton Police and EMS on scene.

5 pm

Washington Ave and Putnam Street in West Hazleton report of a two car motor vehicle accident. Injuries reported. Possible broken wrist due to airbag deployment. West Hazleton Fire, Police, and EMS responding.

5 pm

The OMG store at Laurel Mall Report of a strong odor of natural gas in the store. Hazle Township Fire and EMS responding. Units cleared. All is safe.

7 pm

The Other Side in Freeland Report of a male outside threatening people. Described as an intoxicated male accompanied by his mother whom is in a wheelchair. FPD responding.

8 pm

600 block of Peace Street A male in a home is reportedly threatening to shoot people. The male has put the gun in an individual's face. HPD responding. West Hazleton requested for backup.

8 pm

Giant parking lot An on duty Weatherly Police Officer in the area reports a male attempting to assault him. HPD in the area.

9 pm

9th and Laurel Two cars parked in the area. People screaming at each other from the vehicles. HPD responding.
