Tuesday December 8th - News Review


On Tuesday December 8th, the following incidents are reported to have happened in the Hazleton area at these approximate times:

3 am

North Sherman Court Report of vandalism done to a vehicle. Tires slashed. Victim is familiar with the suspect. HPD responding.

8 am

South Poplar An individual noticed a door to a neighboring home was open. They also heard noises coming from inside of the home and witnessed an unfamiliar vehicle out front. the owner of the property states that the property should be unoccupied. HPD are on scene.

10 am

Church and Fern Street Report of a dump truck that backed into a pole. Pole and wires are reportedly down. Unknown if power is out in the area. Hazleton City Fire is responding.

11 am

East Butler Drive (On the Freeland mountain) Report of a to car motor vehicle crash. No injuries involved. Fluids are down. Valley Regional Fire, EMS, and Butler Township Police responding. A Ford SUV and Jeep both requiring rollbacks.

11 am

4th and Carson An HPD officer identified a wanted female in the area. The female began fleeing on foot. Police are searching for the female in the area. Possibly related: An individual saw a white female with brown hair running on 1st Street and then getting into a Subaru Outback.Vehicle stopped on Garfield and 1st, both occupants seen getting out and then into a silver minivan. Minivan going East on Diamond. Determined to be unrelated. HPD continuing search. State Police are assisting HPD in the search for the female. Unknown what she is wanted for.

2 pm

100 block of East Mine Street Report of a male/female domestic. Male reported to be physically assaulting the female. It is reported that the male is also on heroin. HPD responding.

4 pm

South Vine Street Report of a multiple person fight. Described as multiple juveniles. HPD in route.

4 pm

Diamond and Grant Street **Corrected story** Initial reports stated that a vehicle struck a dog and the vehicle fled the area. Eyewitnesses and firsthand information states that the driver did not leave the area and stayed with the dog. Reports state that the dog ran in front of the car and the situation was unavoidable. The dog sadly passed away at the scene.

8 pm

North Church Street An individual states that someone threw a rock through their window. No description of the actor or actors who threw the rock. HPD responding.

10 pm
