Woman Charged With Stealing $30,000 From Fire Company Is Asking For Money From GoFundMe

Amanda J Devine of White Haven has recently started a GoFundMe to raise money for a new home for herself, her husband, and their children.

Devine has been charged in the theft of nearly $30,000 from the Kidder Township Volunteer Fire Company, using the money for her own personal expenses.

Devine's husband, John Devine was also the Chief of Kidder Township Fire.

Due to troubles with the department, the Township has opted to send calls father away to Lake Harmony and Albrightsville.

Devine was also previously charged with food stamps fraud in September of 2014.

Devine stated in the GoFundMe that herself and her family were being evicted from their home within hours, and that her husband's next paycheck would not cover a first month's rent along with moving truck fees.

Devine stated on the donation page that she had only intended for her friends and family to see the page and donate.

When the page circulated on the internet, many people stepped forward and expressed their concern for Devine asking for donations to save her home after being charged with stealing nearly $30,000 from the volunteer fire comany.

Many concerned individuals reported the donation page to GoFundMe, and some mentioned reporting it to the police.

The page was taken down as of 11pm on Monday.

Devine stated that people should not be ignoring children who will potentially be homeless or uprooted because of the crimes she has been charged with.

She did not claim guilt or innocence, but she did state that others with the fire department had also done wrong as well, and it would be coming out soon.
