Tuesday November 24th - News Review
On Tuesday November 24th, the following incidents are reported to have happened in the Hazleton area at these approximate times:
Noon
2nd and Green in West Hazleton A man states that he was threatened at gunpoint. He states that on South Church Street, a black male in a brown coat had forced him to give the male a ride to 2nd and Green. West Hazleton and HPD are on scene.
2 pm
East Chestnut Street An individual reports finding a bullet on the ground. HPD is responding to dispose of it.
3 pm
Hazleton Area High School Hazleton City Police are again patrolling the area of the high school during dismissal.
5 pm
309 and the Airport Beltway Report of a motor vehicle accident. Unknown on injuries. Hazle Township Fire and EMS are on scene. No accident found. Units returning.
6 pm
13th and Wilbur Court Report of a two car motor vehicle accident. No injuries. One male becoming irate. Hazleton City Fire, EMS, and HPD responding.
7 pm
Giant Supermarket Report of approximately 5 males physically fighting in the parking lot. HPD and West Halzeton Police in route. One male involved is suspected of being a wanted and dangerous male from Weatherly. Butler Township and Sugarloaf Police are also assisting.
7 pm
Hazleton Police are involved in a foot/vehicle chase in the area of South Vine Street near the Dollar General. They are chasing a wanted male from Weatherly, who is possibly armed and dangerous. Male is in custody as of 6:52.
9 pm
600 block of Harrison Street Report of a motor vehicle accident. Vehicle stuck a porch. Structural damage reported. Vehicle is not occupied. Unknown if the driver fled or if the vehicle came out of gear and rolled down the hill. Hazleton City Fire, EMS, and HPD responding.
10 pm
West Green Street in West Hazleton West Hazleton Police investigated a report of a person driving around the block, shining a green laser into the windows of the home around 10pm. Around 6:30 in Carbon County, a flight crew of US Army CH47 reported being illuminated and tracked by a green laser. Coincidence? Lol.
11 pm
Giant Supermarket Report of a male attempting to solicit drugs inside of the store. Described as a Hispanic male with a brown hat and a puffy black jacket. HPD responding.
