On Sunday November 8th, the following incidents are reported to have happened in the Hazleton area at these approximate times:
4 am
400 block of Rose Street - West Hazleton Report of an intoxicated male in the area, possibly holding an assault rifle. Currently on the porch of a residence. West Hazleton Police and HPD responding. Nothing showing 15 minutes into the investigation. WHPD and HPD still investigating.
2 pm
Alter and 4th Streets Report of an individual possibly overdosed on spice. EMS and HPD responding.
'Spice' is a "synthetic marijuana" that is used because of it's ability to be hard to detect on drug tests. Spice has a frequently changing chemical makeup, due to the chemicals that are used to produce the substance being made illegal and forcing the chemical make-up to be changed. The chemicals have become increasingly more dangerous over the years, causing a surge in deaths and seizures.
3 pm
South and Washington Streets in Freeland A dump trunk reportedly caused wires to come down. Freeland Fire Department is investigating.
6 pm
West Broad A worker from a business was taking trash out when they were struck by a pellet, possibly from a slingshot. HPD responding.
6 pm
Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton A male in the waiting room is threatening to shoot someone. Male reportedly asked how long until he would be seen for a laceration he had. He reportedly asked who he had to shoot to be seen. HPD responding.
7 pm
Broad and Church Streets The traffic lights are having issues. HPD is aware.
11 pm
Amazon in Humboldt Motor vehicle accident. Four cars involved. Unknown on injuries. Fluids are down. Hazle Township Fire and EMS responding.
