PSP and HPD Still Searching For Shooter In Hazle Township Assault

Around 10 am Monday, Hazleton City Police along with State Police had a home in the area of 1st and Garfield surrounded, weapons drawn.

It is confirmed that State Police with the assistance of HPD were searching for Lizandy Antonio Trejo who is wanted for Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment after firing into a vehicle occupied with five individuals.

Officers reportedly surrounded the home prior to entering it. Weapons trained on windows, and announcing any movement that could be seen within the residence.

Hazleton City Fire and APTS were on stand by in the area, staging out near Dollar General on Diamond Avenue. Assumably to assist in structural access and EMS needs if a weapon were to be discharged.

Trejo reportedly struck one individual in the head, causing a laceration that required medical attention.

The shooting happened around 3am Sunday morning on Ebervale Road in Hazle Township.

State police did not find Trejo, and are still actively searching.
