Monday November 9th - News Review


On Sunday November 8th, the following incidents are reported to have happened in the Hazleton area at these approximate times:

Midnight

West Maple Street HPD has responded to a residence twice already for reports of domestic issues. A third report has come in that minutes after the police had left the second time, a male in the residence is now smashing things. HPD responding again.

9 am

Church and Maple Report of a two car motor vehicle accident. No injuries reported. Fluids down. Two vehicles requiring tows. HPD on scene. Hazleton City Fire responding.

500 block of West 2nd Street Report of a tree on wires. Hazleton City Fire Responding.

9 am

1200 block of West 15th Street An employee of a business arrived to find a door to the business had been kicked in. Unknown if anyone is currently inside of the building. HPD units are busy, West Hazleton Police are handling.

10 am

Hazleton Police are conducting some form of warrant serving or raid on a home, possibly along Garfield and First Street. Possibly assisted by Hazleton City Fire. No one was taken in to custody. Units cleared.

Noon

Clay Ave in West Hazleton Report of a domestic. West Hazleton Police on scene requesting backup. One female in custody. Sugarloaf Police supplying backup.

Noon

Broad and Diamond Avenue Report of a male possibly unresponsive in a vehicle. Described as a Jeep. Vehicle fled as EMS approached. HPD searching for the vehicle.

2 pm

Shur Save in Freeland Report of a hit and run. A black Volkswagon Jetta reportedly struck a parked vehicle and then fled the scene. Freeland Police have the license plate number and video footage and are investigating.

3 pm

Diamond Avenue An individual has found a 2 year old wandering around unsupervised. HPD on scene, requesting C&Y to respond.

3 pm

South Woodward Court After a report of a female appearing intoxicated in the area, HPD has requested EMS for a possible heroin overdose. EMS responding.

3 pm

Save-A-Lot Report of a retail theft. Two white males stole meat. Fled the area in a Grand Am. HPD responding.

4 pm

BIDA Complex in Berwick Report of a shooter with an AK style gun. Possibly one officer shot. Shooter appears to be down currently.

5 pm

Parkview Rd, Humboldt Report of a brush fire in the area. Hazle Township and Harwood Fire responding.

9 pm

Weis Report of a retail theft. Juveniles reportedly ran out of the store with items that were not purchased. They got into a vehicle and left the area. West Hazleton Police responding.
