Job Corps Student Jailed For Selling Drugs On Campus


On November 9th 2015, Butler Township Police charged and arrested Shakir Dorell Williams with: F Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver

Williams is a 22 year old with a residence listed as Philadelphia.

Staff members found Williams in possession of 26 individually wrapped bags of marijuana.

Butler Township Police state that Williams admitted to selling marijuana at the Keystone Job Corps school in order to make money and support his own drug habit.

Williams was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $20,000 bail.

This incident occurred in the same day that Butler Township officers jailed 23 year old Avon Lamar Perkins of Baltimore for counterfeit money that he possessed. Perkins was also attending and living at the Keystone Job Corp.

The Job Corp. is supported by taxpayer money to educate and train disadvantaged youth.

Multiple complaints have come in from parents and students about the Job Corp.

Being free housing and schooling, the Job Corp. can invite some unwanted individuals.

The Keystone Job Corp. located in Butler Township is located on Foothills Drive, just off of Route 309.

The students from this school frequently visit Hazleton's Laurel Mall and Wal-Mart.
