Shootout In Berwick - Officer Injured - Suspect Shot


Around 2:30 pm, Berwick police were dispatched to the area of Building #93 in the BIDA Complex for a report of a man with an AK - 47 type weapon.

The Berwick Industrial Development Association (BIDA) Complex houses multiple manufacturers.

Reports state that the shooter was cornered by police, who attempted negotiations with the suspect.

The suspect reportedly opened fire on police, who shot the suspect.

One officer was thought to have been shot initially, but further reports state that he had been struck with shrapnel.

EMS responded for the suspect and the officer.

No other injuries were reported, despite over 20 shots being fired.

It is unconfirmed, but individuals state that the suspect's name is James, and he was an employee of a warehouse in the complex.

The cause of the incident is unknown, but believed to have stemmed from an argument.
