Thursday Night Shootout On Hazleton Streets Leaves Residents Shook

Around 11pm, reports stated that gunshots were heard in the area of Alter and 6th Streets.

Multiple gunshots were heard, prompting the response of Hazleton, West Hazleton, and Butler Township Police.

People who live in the area described the event as sounding like two individuals shooting at eachother.

One resident stated "I live one street up and I thought we were under attack."

No one was reported to be injured, and it is unknown if any property was damaged during the shootout.

Police investigated the area, marking where bullet casings had fallen, and cleared the scene.
