Eric M Jenkins of Freeland has been charged in the theft of funds from the West Hazleton Ambulance Association.

Jenkins, the former treasurer for the association, has been charged with felony Theft By Fail To Make Req Disp Funds, felony Recieving Stolen Property, and misdemeanor Prohibited Acts in relation to reported theft of nearly $5000 of the organization's funds.

Jenkins reportedly used ambulance association funds for his own personal expenses.

Jenkins reportedly used funds in amounts smaller than $600 multiple times since 2014.

The missing money was reported to police by a member of the ambulance association board, prompting an investigation into the missing funds.

Jenkins was arrested and arraigned on the 16th, and released on unsecured bail of $25,000.

Jenkins' preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 27th at 12:45pm in front of Magistrate Dixon.
