Police With Guns Drawn Surround Home - Reported Hostage Situation

Just after 9am, Hazleton Police responded to 209 South Pine Street for a report of an individual holding someone at gunpoint.

Five individuals were initially held during the incident. Two of which were reportedly involved, and one of which reportedly had a warrant from a seperate incident.

Officers from Hazleton city were assisted by State Police, West Hazleton, Freeland, Sugarloaf, and Butler Township Police.

Police were on scene until just before noon.

Police gained entry to the home around 11 am after numerous threats that the K9 unit would be entering the home, and requests for the two individuals inside to come out with their hands up.

Officers surrounded the home the entire time with firearms aimed at the house.
