Flowing Water Found On Mars - Life On Red Planet Possible

NASA scientists stated Monday morning that that flowing liquid water exists on Mars.

NASA confirmed the water with the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's imaging device.

Mars has been known to have water in ice form for many years, having large frozen caps at it's poles.

Scientist's are currently unsure of where the liquid form running water is originating from, but it is suspected to be caused by underground aquafers.

The liquid water is said to have a very high salt content, but this does not mean that it would not be able to host life.

Signs of life have yet to be found on Earth's red sister planet, but with the discovery of liquid water comes the raised hopes of existing or previous life being found.

Temperatures on Mars average at about -87 degrees F. Water is able to remain in liquid form in such harsh temperatures due to chemicals that exist on the planet and mix with the water, keeping it from freezing.

NASA scientists intend to search for signs of life around the locations of the newly discovered moving water.
