Van Wrecks; Injured Driver Runs From Accident Near Freeland
Around 4:30 Wednesday Afternoon, Butler Township police and Valley Regional Fire and EMS responded to a report of a vechicle that left the roadway and became stuck in a wooded area on Prospect Road in Butler Township near Freeland.
The van crossed a four foot ditch, mounted a rock, and struck a tree roughly 20 feet into the woods.
A female passenger, Kimberly Schuyler, Freeland, in the vehicle became combative with police and first responders. It is suspected that she was under the influence of alcohol.
The male driver of the vehicle was injured in the accident, but fled the area on foot. Blood was present inside of the vehicle.
The male's identity is not yet known to the public.
The female was taken in to custody by Butler Township police, taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton, and released from police custody.
