Deadly ATV / Tractor Trailer Accident In Humboldt - GRAPHIC PICTURES

Two are dead after an accident this afternoon near Humbolt.

Around 1:30 Thursday afternoon, a couple on a quad collided with a tractor trailer on Rt 924 near the Interstate 81 overpass.

Amber Judge, 31 of Nuremberg, was operating the ATV with a passenger Eric Baker, 23 of Nuremberg on 924.

Sources state that the ATV was moving at a high rate of speed, and had proceeded through a red light as a tractor trailer was turning onto 924 from interstate 81.

Neither of the riders on the ATV were wearing helmets when the quad collided with the tractor trailer. Both Judge and Baker died on impact.

The ATV, which was lodged under the front of the tractor trailer, had been reported stolen earlier in the day.

924 was closed until nearly 4pm due to the accident.

This is a sad event for all parties involved.

Hazleton News 1 would like to stress that ATV's should NOT be driven on public roadways, and that riders should wear helmets at all times when operating an ATV.
