Police Charge Freeland Man For Dumping Trash - Michael Sabo Responsible

An end has finally come to the Freeland dumping incident.

Citizens had found piles of trash near Freeland, including construction waste that linked back to Freeland business owner, Robert Torner.

Torner was proven to be unaware of the dumping that had been committed by a third party, Michael Sabo, 38, of Drifton.

Multiple items had led Freeland residents to accuse Robert Torner of the dumping. Construction material found at the site had related directly to a remodeling project led by Torner on a property that he owned.

Torner claimed innocence throughout the accusations. Admitting that at some points, he had become upset with being accused of something that he did not have a part of.

State police conducted an investigation into the incident while Torner defended his name on Facebook, claiming that he held no role in the dumping.

State police found evidence to speak with Michael Sabo about the dumping. Sabo initially denied being involved, but eventually admitted ot dumping piles of garbage in Upper Lehigh.

State police found construction waste and personal trash belonging to Sabo in hte piles.

Torner had paid Sabo to remove trash from a renovation project.

Sabo was paid on one occasion to remove trash, and had charged Torner for the proper disposal of waste.

Sabo was not an employee of Torner's previously, and was not hired again after the incident.
