Parents, Children, Assaulted In Hazleton Attack

Just after 9pm on Tuesday the 9th, a man and a woman were driving on Laurel St. in Hazleton with their daughters in the car.

At the intersection of Laurel and Broad, a vehicle had cut them off. Two males and a female had gotten out of the vehicle and approached the family.

The mother and father were pulled from the car and beaten.

The two screaming girls, ages 4 and 6, were struck as well.

Two calls were made to 911, stating that two males and a female were attacking a female and two children, and that the attackers had fled the area.

Hazleton police quickly arrived on scene and requested EMS for "facial lacerations, and a lot of blood".

The mother, father, and both daughters were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton. The mother and children were released early Wednesday morning, and the father was transferred to Allentown and released Wednesday afternoon.

Hazleton Police recovered a handgun at the scene, and are currently searching for those responsible.
