Another Hazleton Child Rapist Caught

On Sunday, June 7th, Hazleton police issued a warrant for 40-year old David Vasquez Cruz for the indecent assault of a minor, nearly a month after Cruz called police and admitted to the assault.

Cruz, who had moved to Hazleton from Queens NY, was arrested the morning of Monday June 8th on the charges of Indecent Assault Of A Person Less Than 13 Years Old, and Child Endangerment.

Cruz called police on May 9th to report the acts that took place six years ago. He told officers that he wanted to "Clear his conscience" and stated "I never did it again, and I want to make it right."

The victim later told police that she was scared when the incidents happened.

Magisterial Judge Zola set his bail at $250,000, and stated that if Cruz did manage to post bail, he would have no contact with the victim, be placed on home confinement, and cruz would stay away from places frequented by minors.
